Solo Success: Michael Glabicki
The Pittsburgh music scene and Rusted Root practically go hand in hand. The band burst onto the scene in the early-‘90s, peaking in 1994 with the release of When I Woke, which included the popular singles Ecstasy and Send Me On My Way...Read about the SXSW experience and more at

A Message from Michael…

Rusted root tour : It was really loud . It was definitely the loudest we have ever played and quite possibly the best we have ever played. We all knew that we weren..t going to be touring for a while after it was over (so I could have time to record my solo record) so everyone went all out. I spent most my daytime in the hotel room writing songs and sorting through old ideas. I finished a really different version of the song THUNDER and played it on stage for the encore for about six shows towards the end of the tour. From what I could tell the response was great. It really surprised me because the song is much more lyrically driven and in the bigger louder venues coming out after the full band it is hard to pull off a song like that. But it worked every time. I'm curious to see how it goes on the 12th in Pittsburgh with the solo band.
Solo show: Got back home from the Rusted Root Tour on Oct. 2nd and went straight into rehearsals with the new band. Out of the twenty new songs it looks like 12 will be ready for the show on Oct. 12th along with some of the old Rusted Root favorites. The NEW SONGS ON THE SET LIST:
- MIND MADE UP
- DEVIL IN OUR BED
- WEARY BONES
- CRUCIBLE GLOW
- THUDER
- MR. SMARTY PANTS
- HELP US JESUS
- THE MOVEMENT
- STEREO RODEO
- VISION IS LOST
- I’M YOUR GARBAGE MAN
- ANIMALS LOVE TOUCH
The new band:
- Dirk Miller:
You’ve seen him out on the Rusted Root tour taking care of my guitars and playing guitar with us on stage. This guy is nothing but good vibes and great guitar playing. Ladies look out! - Rob James:
Guitar player from Pittsburgh's own THE CLARKS. He is great at supporting what is best about a song with his guitar playing and has a gift in bringing in new colors and creating depth. He did all the electric guitar work on Mind Made UP on the demo. Take a listen! - Tommy Belin:
Did all the bass work on the demos and as you can tell he takes up a huge portion of the music. I can't turn him up loud enough in the mix. - Dave Throckmorton:
This guy is an institution. You gotta see him play live.
Looking forward to seeing all of you on the road. Thank you for the support, it's overwhelming.
